The modern practice of law continues to evolve. Today’s consumer always asks “what do you specialize in?” My answer is simple: I specialize in identifying what you, the client, really need. If you wish to have a confidential discussion with me, I will provide an experienced analysis for your situation and then offer a general overview of your legal issue. It is then that you have to decide what is in your own best interest and the direction you wish to follow.

If you do want to pursue an attorney-client relationship, we will talk about the business of law and how your case will be priced (my hourly rate) or whether I will represent you on a contingency basis (where my office advances case and expert expenses and I only get paid if we win the case).

It is also important to know that there may be certain times in which I will refer you to another attorney in my professional network that may be better suited to representing you. As an example, over the past decade, I work with an outstanding attorney who practices one specific area of law: obtaining Social Security Disability benefits. I do not personally do this; however, I will talk with you or your loved one and tell you how the process works and what you will need to qualify. If you then elect for me to help you with your case, I will put you in position to interview and meet with my colleague to see if he would be the right fit for you.

Everyone’s case is unique; you need to be happy with your attorney and the attorney must respect your claim. At the end of the day, it is you, the client, who decides how your case proceeds.
